VirtualCam turns your webcam into a real-time AI character camera. Everything runs on cloud GPUs - there is nothing to install and no GPU is needed on your machine.
1. Sign in
Sign in from the home page. Every account is on the Pro plan while VirtualCam is in beta, which includes 30 minutes of streaming per day.
2. Pick a persona
Open Streaming from the sidebar. The Personas panel at the bottom holds your characters - start with a built-in one, or create your own with the + tile and a short description.
3. Enter Backstage
- Click the Backstage button. A GPU is started just for your session - this usually takes one to three minutes, and the queue screen shows live progress.
- When the session is ready your camera preview appears, with your character rendered in the stage area.
- Allow camera access when the browser asks. No camera? A synthetic test pattern is used automatically so you can still try everything.
4. Switch personas live
While in Backstage you can click any persona tile and the character changes live - no restart needed.
Your daily streaming time only counts while a session is active. Waiting in the queue is free.
