The one-line version
Be someone else for fun, for streams, for performance - never to harm, deceive for gain, or sexualise anyone without consent.
Never allowed
- Impersonating a real person without consent. Do not present yourself as an identifiable real person - a celebrity, a public figure, a colleague, an ex, anyone you can name - without their clear, informed consent. Playing a fictional character or an obviously invented persona is what virtualcam.ai is for; wearing a real person’s face is not.
- Deceiving people in live interactions for harm. Never use a synthetic face to defraud, scam (including romance scams and business-email/ video-call compromise), catfish, stalk, or harass anyone, or to extract money, intimate images, or personal information from someone who does not know your video is synthetic.
- Sexual content involving any real person without consent. No non-consensual intimate imagery, no “deepfake porn”, no nudification of anyone.
- Anything involving minors. No content that depicts, sexualises, or appears to depict a person under 18 — regardless of claimed age or consent — and no use of the service by anyone under 18. We report suspected child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and equivalent authorities.
- Identity-verification bypass. Do not use virtualcam.ai to defeat KYC, age verification, face-liveness checks, video-call identity confirmation, or any other authentication built around a face.
- Fraud, hate, and manipulation. No use in furtherance of financial fraud, doxxing, threats, hate speech, election interference, or coordinated disinformation.
Disclosure expectations
Some jurisdictions and platforms legally require you to disclose AI-generated or AI-modified video (in the EU, deployer duties under the AI Act apply from 2 August 2026; many streaming platforms have synthetic-media rules). That disclosure duty is yours, and the Terms require you to honour it. Even where not legally required, prank and performance formats should end in a reveal - deception that never resolves is where formats cross into the banned list above.
Personas
Built-in personas are provided for use within the service. When persona uploads ship, every upload will require your confirmation that you own the image or that every identifiable person depicted has given you clear, informed permission - and uploads will be screened. Attempting to upload a real third party’s face without consent is a violation of this policy, not just a blocked action.
Enforcement
We enforce this policy with human review and, as we roll them out during the beta, automated safety checks on sampled output frames (see the Privacy Policy for how that works and what is retained). We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts without refund, and report illegal activity to law enforcement. If you believe someone is violating this policy - or your own likeness is being misused - report it or email [email protected].
